Vishal's melody is good, Gulzar's lyrics are evocative and Arijit Singh's singing is breathtakingly good. Still - a song in which the total is somehow lesser than the sum of its parts. My guess - it's a difficult tune to sing along and that break in rhthm in the middle with the dholak/harmonium is offputting (probably makes sense in the film). -Param
In Alvida, Arijit is desolate, with a searing melody. -Karthik
rooh me.n bah rahaa hai tuu, ai kahii.n tuu Khudaa to nahii.n -- what else can we expect from Gulzar Saab! I first heard it as "ek hii Khudaa tu …" which inadvertenly made sense too! -Arun Verma
Arijit Singh is the star of this intense piece that in some ways is a follow up to Jhelum from Haider. -Vipin
Singing/music not bad, but trying to create some wistful feeling in the mukhda which I am instead finding grating/annoying. -Sanjeev
This song resembles 'naina thag lenge' from Omkara in mood and 'jhelum' from Haider in melody. Regardless, this is Arijit's show all the way. Power, nuance, emotion - the man hits all the right notes! This one tops the list for me!. -Megha
In that place where Vishal and Gulzar together take you sometimes. Loved the arrangements. -Harshit
Another made-for-Arijit’s voice song, the “contemplaintive” (contemplative, plaintive) male solo. He does full justice to it. Gulzar strikes gold at “रूह में बह रहा है तू — ऐ कहीं तू ख़ुदा तो नहीं”. Brilliance! -UVR
Another promising song ruined by Arjit's lazy, disintersted style of singing. -Shalini Razdan
Interesting song with a Sufi feeling and use of western instruments. -Vaishali
Cliched lyrics and tune. -Arun Simha
Arjit makes it so boring. -Zafar
