Rahman builds a sweeping landscape of music which is the standout feature of this song for me. The singing falls a couple notches short of the mark. -Omkar
It is a good melody, but does a shade of Raga Darbari work for those sensual lyrics describing rain? Maybe it does. As with all ARR songs, it will take more than two or three hearings to get him right. -Arun Simha
One of the better Tamil to Hindi adaptations, but would still prefer the original. -Anup
Has the Rahman flourish! And Gulzar saab special:
zameen-o-aasamaan ne kyaa baat kii hai / giraake pardaa koii baat kii hai / jhukaa ke aa.Nkh se / din me.n raat kii hai. -Arun Verma
I'm not sure the fusion of Classical with Techno is entirely successful, but I appreciate the attempt at something a little off the beaten path. Wish the vocals were stronger. -Shalini Razdan
Darbari base - stock lyrics. Vocals well-executed individual pieces, sound , and instrumentation, are interesting, but end result is a bit amorphous...a collage. -Sanjeev
Saajan aayo re is a pleasant surprise, Jonita’s vocal dexterity and Darbari Kanada raag flowing infinitely better in Hindi. -Karthik
A song that grows on you with every listen. Of course Jonita Gandhi's voice only helps it along! -Megha
Soul of darbari but the flesh/blood are missing. -Nishant
As is typical of ARR songs, it needs multiple listens before you really get into it. -UVR
Sasha Turupati had knocked the ball out of the park with her rendition of the Tamil original, Naane Varugiraen. So as good as this song is, one can't help but compare it against the original and see it falling a tad short. -Param
Run of the mill. -Zafar
Brilliant singing by Jonita Gandhi as usual. -Vaishali
अच्छा गाना. -Yunus
