The song begins like a ghazal in velvety voice of Harshdeep Kaur. I've always admired Anwesha’s singing ever since her chhote ustaad days. Kudos to Himesh for giving a chance to her. The tune is very addictive set to Rupak-taal? beats. Male portions of the song are tailor-made for Sonu Nigam. Vineet tries to imitate him throughout the song. Irshad bhai's lyrics fit well for the milan-ki-raat situation, where Salman’s doppelgänger is trying to avoid advances from Sonam. Also, something interesting about the imagery of "diye jal uthte hain”. -Mihir M
Just about OK. Won't listen again. -Abhay
The female singer is ok. -Ashok
Good, typical Bollywood tune... could have done without the techno beats. -Armeen
A bit surprised by the restraint shown by Himesh R. It is quite a pleasant tune and should have had more play than other songs from the movie. -Subrat
The song keeps promising good things in several parts but fails to deliver. Just when you think the music, or singing will throw a curveball, it disappoints you by sticking to the tried and tested. -Ketan
Wish Harshdeep got more lines, after her powerful opening we are treated to Anwesha's Shreyaesque vocals and everything goes downhill from there. -Vibhendu
Lovely beat. -Sunil
Very good composition, with decent singing. -Aditya
To much Sugary flavor puts off. Harshdeep is good. -Pavan
This "Bitaani tere saaye mein samein zindagaani" is so reminding me of some other song but I can't place it - it is a "newer" song (like in last 25 years :-) ). -Archana
What's with those annoying male-voice "thaa-thaa"s in the background? And why does the song have an unnecessary off-beat pause whenever she sings "jalte diye"? Vineet Singh (SRGMP fame) sounds quite good, but Himesh's music works against itself. Sigh. -UVR
