Indian Ocean | Varun Grover (mukha.Daa by Dushyant) | Swanand Kirkire |
A catchy song coupled with Kirkire's vocals makes this a good listen. But the winner here are the lyrics. -Sowmya
Varun Grover's adaptation from Dushyant Kumar is very apt and has a very "organic" feel. Swanand is not a singer, but his voice is also very "organic" within the context of Indian Ocean's music and their other songs. Overall, I think this song will stand the test of time. -UVR
Dushyant's line gets a fitting treatment in Varun's words. Best written song of the year for me. -Aditya
Easily the best song of the year from the best film of the year, this is a magical composition by Indian Ocean, giving more meaning to lyrics that have been extended by Varun Grover,. -Vikas
Love the lyrics on this one. Between this film & Moh moh ke dhaage alone, Varun Grover was undoubtedly the lyricist of the year for me :-). -Archana
Super imagination by the lyricist. -Vinayakam
The opening lines from Dushyant hold you because you never thought it could be used in Hindi film. The rest of the lyrics channel the spirit of Dushyant well. The track is quite similar to vintage Indian Ocean tracks in this genre. -Subrat
This is the expression of realization of love. That moment when you start falling dip into a wormhole of love. The song evokes that feeling through Varun’s superb lyrics. Swanand croons it in his trademark robust voice. किसी लम्बे सफर की रातों में, तुझे अलाव सा जलाता हूँ.. Waah!. -Mihir M
I'm in two minds as to whether the lyricist himself should sing. -Ashok
Lovely imagery in lyrics by Varun Grover aptly supported by the rustic voice of Swanand Kirkire. -Shivani
Very interesting lyrics. Singing is sub-par. -Ketan
Guitars really standout here. Very hypnotic melody. Indian Ocean give us a fabulous soundtrack once again. -Sunil
Fabulous analogy: pul and rail. -Neha
