गीत की शुरुआत (पहले बीस सेकेंड निकलने के बाद) प्रीतम ने इसी फिल्म के दूसरे गीत जनम जनम की सिग्नेचर धुन से की है। बाकी का संगीत संयोजन कुछ deja vu सा अहसास दिलाता है। अमिताभ के बोल भी जितना मुखड़े में आकर्षित करते हैं उतनी पकड़ अंतरों में नहीं रख पाते पर संपूर्णता में गीत को सुनना अच्छा ही लगता है। . -मनीष

To be brutally honest, I was all set to dislike this song when it first came out, but it grew on me in spite of myself. Starting from the piccolos interspersed in the song, to the way Arijit and Ankita's voice complement each other, to the catchy refrain, it makes for happy listenings. Aside: I like it despite the fact that the heavy post-processing it has been put through is all too evident in this song. -UVR

For the iconic pair of SRK-Kajol, one expects nothing but a great song. What Pritam delivers is a plain average track. The prelude of the song itself sounds disjointed from the mukhda. The Gerua hook is additive. Arijit and Antara sing well, but are let down by the ordinariness of the tune. Major disappointment. -Mihir M
