What a fantastic shehnai prelude! Excellent song, although similar to some of SLB's earlier work and Mom Ki Gudiya song. -Aditya
It’s a semi-classical number beautifully composed by SLB which takes you back to the songs of yore that had thehraav, adaayen, and other classical-dance elements. From ‘मरोड़ी कलाई मोरी..’ part of the antara to the cross-line which takes you back to the mukhda ~~ Absolutely loved those progressions.
In recent times, so many new singers have come up in the music industry. Many of them last for few songs and then disappear. But when you hear an intricately detailed, refined rendition like this, you know Shreya’s worth. She sings with such finesse! Absolutely flawless. -Mihir M
Creates a lovely mood. -Vinayakam
The visuals made the sound very appealing. Shreya sounds a little strained at some points…the table was very distracting…. -Neha
The composition, arrangement are great. Shreya sounds a bit tinny at times. -Ketan
Very reminiscent of Devdas but nonetheless a good hear overall. -Shivani
Something tells me this song is going to be rated highly. I found the tune average, the orchestration standard and the lyrics (mode kalai, chhedo nahin etc) sticking to the template. -Subrat
Shreya and her honey dripping voice makes this song deserve listening on repeat. The cherry on top is Birju Maharaj. -Sowmya
Smooth, but not very interesting. -Abhay
Another quintessentially SLB-Shreya song. When you hear Shreya's voice in this song, you're KNOW that all is well with the world. Birju Maharaj's contribution to this song is innocuous and seminal both at once. The tune is excellent, meandering in and out of various 'ragas'. When I heard this song for the first time, I was surprised to see SLB listed as the composer. Later, I discovered that the tune has been lifted from L-P's "bandhan TooTe naa", Mom Ki Gudiya (1972) and merely reworked into a different (much simpler) rhythmic cycle. So, it's a Lata song, and what can be wrong with that? :) Besides SLB has reduced the pitch from the Lata version, so that Shreya doesn't have to tear apart her vocal chords singing in an impossibly high scale. But, answer me this: does SLB get to claim credit for the song? (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7iZSRUXmpU). -UVR
Birju Maharaj is perfect for this song. -Sunil
एक चुहल भरी बेहद प्यारी शास्त्रीय बंदिश जिसे बार बार सुनने का दिल करता है। -मनीष
