Jury comments
The melody and arrangement (especially Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt's interludes) almost appear to be working with Suresh Wadkar exploring the lyrics. -George
Is it just me or does Suresh Wadkar sound tired and (therefore more) effeminate? -Armeen
I love the use of the Hawaiin guitar in all the 7 khoon songs. This instrument is usually treated as a step child when it comes to the usage of guitars for music. The lyrics are pretty amusing and typical of Gulzar. -Sowmya
-Pavan
Vishal going back to his favorite - Suresh Wadkar. This time they provide a mood that feels unplugged and up, close and personal - a hall room performance. Gulzar gets an opportunity to play with his words - langoriously toying with his words to define the mood. Suresh Wadkar's voice has mellowed with age and it has acquired a different likeable edge - especially when he hits the high notes. -Shashi
सुरेश वाडकर की पवित्र आवाज़. गुलज़ार के बड़े दिनों बाद ’तराशे हुए’ बोल, और विशाल का चश्मे सा संगीत. और क्या चाहिए. -Mihir
Where do I start? The orchestration is almost quiet, the singing takes over and the lyrics are pure gold. Pt Vishwa Mohan Bhatt with his Mohan Veena is a bonus. -Subrat
Suresh Wadkar does not sound good. :( His opening 'maaayyyy re' seems to be directly competing with the local goat population. Music too is a disappointment. -Ketan
Suresh Wadkar sounds a tad nasal. Lyrics are the high point of the song, and the interludes are sumptuous. -Aditya
Best to close you eyes and the magic of Wadkar's voice and VB's tranquil orchestration wash over you. -Vipin
